Most have of have known this for just over a week now. Today's TU online obituaries posted the devastating news that one of our most beloved players, Scott Ross, succumbed to prostate cancer. Scott was a tenacious competitor and a true gentleman. His character exemplified the human spirit and our baseball community will sorely miss him.

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Scott A. Ross, 68, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer. Scott was born on March 7, 1958, in Sandusky, Ohio. He spent much of his childhood in Springfield, Mass., before eventually making Albany, N.Y., his home. On August 8, 2008, he married the love of his life, Brenda, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. In 2023, they made Florida their home, where they enjoyed their retirement years together.
Scott leaves behind his loving wife, Brenda; his daughters, Jessica (Jeremie) Ackerman and Shannon (Sawyer) Hicks; his sisters, Lori (John) Moccio and Stacey (Tom) Whitman; his beloved granddaughter, Alaina Garrett; his soon-to-arrive granddaughter; his nieces and nephew; along with extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Dee Dee's Tavern in Latham. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laughter, and memories as they celebrate a life well lived.
