Twins score 1 in the top of the first as Steve Rychcik singles to drive in Jeff Cohen who opened the game with a single against Whiz starter Shane Flint who is a sidearm moderate speed southpaw. We had not seen him pitch before.A word to the wise-Flint has an outstanding pickoff move to first base. They also have a well executed pick off move to second base. You have been warned. Whiz come right back in the bottom of the first and score 2 runs off Twins starter Stefan Koutsakis as Doug Reisinger is driven home by a Gene Hallenbeck double and then scores on a Jeff Friedman single. The Whiz get 1 run in the 2nd and another in the 3rd to go ahead 4-1. Twins chip away with a run in the 4th to make it 4-2 Whiz. A Twins error and a passed ball gift a run to the Whiz in the fifth making it a 5-2 ball game. It sometimes takes a while for the Twins to wake up, but wake up they did in the top of the fifth. Koutsakis leads off and was hit by a pitch. Mike Arbour follows with a double. John Reel walks. Jeff Cohen reaches on a fielders choice scoring KOUTSAKIS. Frank Owens walks. Craig Tynan reaches on a fielders choice scoring Arbour. JEFF WHITEHEAD follows with a single knocking home Cohen. Game all tied up after five and a half 5-5. The Whiz come back in the bottom of the sixth scoring two runs on a single, a walk, and a couple of Twins miscues. 7-5 Whiz after six full and that is the way it stayed as the Twins lose another tough one to the first place team. The Twins had seven hit, 6 singles plus a double by Arbour. The WHIZ had eight hits with JEFF Friedman, going 3-3 and Hallenbeck 2-3 including a double.
