In a game played Monday the Yankees prevailed over a gutsy Hornet team. The score is not indicative how close the game was until the sixth inning when the score was 7-5. The Yankees scored 5 runs to break the game open and another run in the 7th. The Hornets had a tough break early in the game losing Ron Smaka to a calf injury. They still had their hitting shoes on as any mistake pitch I threw they were all over it.
Ray Demers went 4 for 4 with several RBI's and Paul Celentano had 3 hits as well to pace the Yankees. There were several other players who had 2 hits and RBi's.
Art Gianakos was the winning pitcher with relief from Ken Zimmer. The Hornets has several players with Multiple Hits including Mike Aiello, and Jim Ardendino( sorry for the mispelling).
