Let's get this out of the way. No more potato problems. The group sessions and psychotherapy have helped tremendously. Like a heavy smoker using a nicotine patch as a substitute, the doctors have presented me with with my own potato substitute (or "Spud Sub" as they like to call it). The hidden carrot trick is much more comfortable - and I can see much better.
Oh, right, the game......
To paraphrase Snoopy...It was potentially a dark and stormy night. But, unfortunately for the Fordians, the rains held off and the A's broke out in a storm of their own with 20 hits. With 7 runs in the first inning, the A's did not look back.
The A's were led by 4 different players with 3 hits each...David Schillinger (2 1B, 2B), John Haff (2 1B, Inside the Park HR), Ed Class (1B, 2B, 3B), George Schillinger (2 1B, 2B), Jim Bonaparte(3 1B).
For the Fordians, McCann, Dolan and Shepard each had 2 1B and Hauser had a 2B.
Oops - my bad. John Haff was 4-4 with 3 singles and an HR. And the A's pitchers combined for a nice game - Artie Gionakos, Jim Bonaparte, Tom Smith - and for the one-out save, Jim Maloney.
