Despite the weather report, it rained throughout the ballgame. It was not a very good day to play baseball, but as usual, it was good to play baseball. Joe Sarubbi pitched the first 5 innings for the Vets, giving up just 3 hits and a walk. Bill Kervan, finished the game for the Vets. It was a 4-0 shut out until the late innings. The Vets had put together the 4 runs with 9 hits, while commiting just 2 errors. The scrappy Whiz Kids put together a rally that fell just short, thanks to a nice play started by John Vidor catching a fly ball for the 2nd out and a relay to Dave DeMaria and to home to cut down the runner at the plate for the final out. I was getting a little nervous at the end, and I'm sure I picked up a few more grays. Congrats to Jim P and the Whiz Kids. They are always a touch opponent, but most of all, the games are always fun. next time T
