Your Albany team went 1-1 the first day of the New Hampshire 45+ tournament.
In the first game vs. the New Hampshire Legends, Albany won 9-0 led by the strong outing of Jim Latorre. He tossed a three hitter, striking out 11 and walking three. Matt Kelly led the offense with a double single. Jim Latorre also contributed two hits.
In the second game, John Latorre took the hill and had a great outing. He only gave up four hits, but all four contributed to the New Hampshire Eagles runs.
The Eagles #4 hitter led the 2nd inning with a double, went to 3rd on a ground out to first and scored on a WP. In the 5th, he hit a triple and came home on a sac fly. In the 6th, the Eagles lead off batter walked, the next batter hit a single, the next batter laid down a perfect bunt for a hit. With no outs bases loaded, and the infield in, Darrell Duncan made a diving stop at second and got a force at second, but the a run scored. John retired the next two batters to get out of the inning.
Albany's only run came in the fourth with a lead-off double by Randy Craft. Kevin Jackson knocked him in with a single to left field.
Albany takes on an 0-2 team from MA Sunday morning. A win ensures Albany a place in the championship game Sunday afternoon.
