for those of you, who wonder if, gee, didn't we have a really wet june? and how wet, exactly, was that?
well, it was a splasher. a record in fact. on june 30th, about 12 hours before any last drops were tabulated, i heard this on my car radio:
this past june was the wettest in albany's recorded history. we got 7.45 inches of rain, which was .05 more than the last recorded amount - in 1862, when honest abe lincoln was president and the troy haymakers (and the national league) were about 25 years from their first game. lots of rain in 1862 - but no rainouts.
also, we set a mark for may and june - getting about 14 inches of rain, or about 40 percent of our total annual precipitation.
i'd think the weather gods have had their fun. time now for sun.
