On a beautiful, mid-afternoon Sunday, the kind Mike Hart could eloquently describe, the 38 Cubs upped their record to 7-5, with a hard fought, 4-3, 8 inning victory over the Jays.
Ed Rogers drew a bases loaded ,walk-off walk, to make a winner out of Mike LaCouture, who battled through all 8 innings for the victory.
Offensively, the Cubs were led by Chris Black and Jonny Martin, who each had a couple of hits, including doubles. Ralph Caputto roped the ball for the Jays. Fine defensive plays were made on both sides, as the aroma of the Wiz Kids barbecue filled the air.
