The Yankees and Vets played a tight game into the 4th inning behind Mike Hart's pitching but eventually the combination of Yankee hitting and humidity proved to be too much for Mike. The Yankees scored 8 runs and took command of the game.
Wayne Newcomb and Paul Celantano had had 2 hits each and Mike Eflite and Steve Van Gelder each had clutch hits for 2 rbi's apiece. Ralph Caputo and Dave Booker combined in pitching a solid game. The Vets played hard and never quit throughout.
