The Silver Marlins rode the spectacular pitching performance of Darrell Duncan to a 6 - 0 whitewashing of the Aging Orioles in the deciding game of the 38+ Championship Series last night at Cook Park. The Marlins scored 5 runs with two outs if the top of the first inning and "D squared" struck out the side in the bottom of the inning and the game was decided. He used a fast ball, curve, change, and knuckler equally well all night as there was only one hit by an Oriole all night, and that was a bloop to right that fell just in front of Dave Mitchell. It was an amazing performance!!! Curt Coons (who is a Twilight League Hall of Fame catcher) called it one of the best games he has ever caught. That says it all. Congrats to the O's on a great season. To all my guys: Party at Ronnie's house next Friday night!!!!
Hats off to the Silver Marlins on another fine season. The Orioles/Marlins have had their moments in the past but I speak for all the Orioles when I say we love to play the Marlins; we admire their competitive nature, will to win and talent on the diamond.
Congratulations and enjoy the party at Ronnie's house.
Congratulations to the Marlins...they played great baseball and their pitching shut down a pretty good hitting Oriole team. NICE JOB and an end to a great 38 season
