There will be no official all-star game between the 38s and 47s on saturday at clifton commons. I told Girard I'd play against his team 45 florida team at noon before the 28s play their all-star game. If anyone wants to play, email me and we'll give it a go. but i need to know asap because it will cost us $30 to use the field and we'll all have to chip in. if i don't have at least 7 others committed by thursday night, then we won't do it. jimk
Mike Kravitz is also working on this. You might want to coordinate this with him. You made it sound like it was $ 30 per man to use the field. I just wanted everyone to know that it is $ 30 total for the use. correct?
Does anyone know if the 28+ All-star Game and HR Derby will be played on the main field or the older field at Clifton Commons? I hope we are on the main field as they revamped it big time around July for the Babe Ruth World Series they hosted including building new dugouts, re-sod the infield, putting a new back drop on the entire outfield fence and putting up a new score board. The field is extremely nice now and I would put it second in the area with only the Joe topping it.
The older field is nice but unfortunately the drainage is not exactly great. I played a bunch of games on both diamonds this past summer for the Twilight League and unfortunately the older field was usually a mess in the outfield even a few days after rain so today's weather will probably leave it somewhat sloppy for tomorrow. On top of that, the dugouts were filled with water for each of the games I played on the old field as they too do not have any drainage.
