Identification/new board members

We, as a league, ought to begin ID'ing ourselves when we leave messages.
I don't want to have to remember who anyone is by their Bulletin Board nickname. And others mentioned it at the meeting Wednesday night. I don't know, and have no inclination to remember, who all of you are who use nicknames.

And congrats to those new board members who stepped up. It's nice that we now have a full board. I still believe we need some changes, but this is by far a great start.

To all CBMSBL members, have a great holiday season and a healthy 2007.

I attended my first board meeting this week after being a player in the league for six seasons. More of us should get involved, the league constitutes a major portion of the player's lives during the season, and league official's lives throughout the year. I was made aware of the amount of work the President, Commissioner , Board Members, and other officials perform to make the league function as well as it does. Mike Hart's continued charitable and goodwill services were justly recognized in receiving the Jim Jordan Award .
A fresh new face in the league , Dennis -- , manager of the 38's Cubs, politely withdrew his nomination as a board member as more nominees than available positions became apparent. Dennis has already made great contributions to the league, and brings an optimistic and gracious spirit to the table , hopefully he will consider an appointment for next season.
One issue that was discussed by many was the possibility of updating and expanding the website. There are professional web designers in the league who would donate their time and efforts to bring our website up to the standards of the league we belong to,under the guidance of the league officials. An updated site could showcase the league, bringing more attention and attendance to our Labor Day Tournament, as well as many other benefits.
Thanks for the invitation, see everyone in a few short months .

Ron

Well Jim, Why don't you start the new trend and change your screen name to jimk.
It will certainly show commitment on your part.

Thanks for the kind words Ron - yes, I will definitely serve on the board. If there were only 9 nominees for 9 positions, I would have served, but with a 2.5 week old baby at home, I felt the other 11 nominees would be more effective than I could be this year.

As I said at the meeting though, I am willing to help the board in any way I can. To make it easy for anyone in the league to contact me, I've created a page on the Cubs website that I will keep current with all of my contact information. If you need help with getting fields, paperwork, etc. etc. I'll be glad to lend a hand when I can.

Just go to:
http://www.CapitalDistrictCubs.com
and click on "Contact" on the left menu.

See everyone next season.

I would suggest that EVERYONE go to their profile and update a signature that includes a REAL name and possibly the team they play for. It is the easiest way to identify yourself if you use a "screenname" and an avatar.

Just go to the top of the page and click your user ID
Then click "Edit Profile" in the upper right-hand corner on the following page
Then type a signature and save it

From thenceforth your signature should appear underneath every post you make.
