I was one of the twelve players to show up at the Adirondack Sports Complex in Queensbury last night. I was impressed with the facilities. We were able to take batting practice and play a 3 inning scrimmage before the lights were dimmed to give us the hint that 15 minutes overtime was enough. I guess that all you need to know is that we would have gone on forever if they had not said "that's enough, we want to go home." The visibility is not the same as playing outside, but if you keep your attention on the ball, there is no problem. It is when you are telling war stories to a buddy and hear the crack of the bat, then it is hard to find the ball against the white ceiling. We used yellow colored baseballs for the scrimmage and nobody had any problems picking the ball up. It was a great way to spend a Thursday night!!! It beats the living sh*t out of arguing whether you want to watch CSI or Grey's Anatomy with the wife. The only thing keeping it from being better was the fact that we only had 12 people show up. We will be doing this again Thursday, February 8, from 9:30 to 11:00. We hope to have twice as many guys show up, so that we can start the game right away and have at least 9 to a side. The trip from my house at exit 8 of the Northway took about 35 minutes.
There is nothing like playing baseball while it is 2 below zero outside. I hope we can get enough guys for a full game. A 3 inning scrimmage and BP wasn't bad but it could be better.
For those of you concerned about the drive there are a few of us like Mike and me who live in Clifton Park. If you want to travel from the points south to Clifton Park and then hitch a ride witth us the rest of the way let me know.
This is very interesting to me. I did not know fo any complex that was playable at this time. Lease let me know what is going on and when the next scrimmage will be. I'd love to check it out and get a head start on the upcoming season. Andy Sardella 598-9226
I hope you don't mind me responding. I played last year in the Roy Hobbes 30 and over in Saratoga. Played in the dome last winter too, and I enjoyed it as much as you guys. Looking to come up and play with you guys for the winter if you'll have me. Can probably get a few more bodies and we can have proper scrimmages. The guys I play with are also interested in joining the league. We've currently got about 9 guys and hope to pick up 5 more. Anyway, would you be looking for some xtra guys for spring training? My email is richotto19@yahoo.com. Thanks, Rich

Just post on here when the date and time becomes definite, or call me at 598-9226. I'd love to come check it out. Thanks
