Rotterdam Babe Ruth Field

I am on the Rotterdam Babe Ruth E-board. I can get the field in Rotterdam but I will not have dates until next week. Because of the Rain, there field is being used more. I will get advailable dates from the assignor and you let me know if they will work. I play for the 38 White Soxs and we are trying to get some our games there and make that our home field for next year. What would we pay to play on the field either day or night games. I will be able to get dates by next week. Call me at 505 2278 if you have any questions about the field. Night games are played at 8:30 under the lights. This field can be used for make up games for the 38 White Soxs.

Rick,
I grew up in Rotterdam, attended Draper HS, but am a bit older (55) than you. I play for the Blue Jays in the 38's and the Yankees in the 48's.
I've talked to John DeGiorgio (Parks/Rec Director) about the fields, and had Chuck Stanley follow up, with a letter. But, any help from you would be greatly appreciated. Chuck, I guess, forwarded a letter to Fred DeMarco, who I believe, has a lease on that field, if I'm not mistaken.
We have been trying to land the Rotterdam field for the last 6 months. Many memories on that field, speaking for myself. Plus, with having lights, it would be a nice change, for teams usually only playing during daylight.
Rick, I can be reached at 331-0186 (cell), if you'd like to chat. The 48's, at least could really use that field, if we can get it.
Thanks Rick.

Rick
The league owes you a debt of gratitude for your efforts in securing that field.
It is a great park to play on and the lighting is among the best, if not the best, in the Capital Region.
This would be among the best fields we play on. And certainly there would be great appeal if we could use it for the Labor day tournament. I'd much rather pay the same money for the RBR field than we pay for any of the other fields we play on. It's also a great community that appreciates its baseball, and our league could make great inroads in that regard.
Thanx again.
Jim K

Rick,
Mike Eplite here. I was under the impression, that last time I was in contact with you, that some 47 and over games, would be played at Rotterdam Babe Ruth. What is the situation, as far as playing some games at the Rotterdam field, as far as the 47's are concerned?
I only see, one game, that's being played there, and I believe it's your club, as being one of those teams.
I've been trying to get that field, for the 38's and 47's, since last year. I was continually talking to John D (dir. of parks/rec), and Chuck Stanley, over a 10 month period.
Can you get me up to date, if any other games, will be played @ Rotterdam. I to, along with you, played on that field, many years back (1966-1970), for Draper HS.
Also, the fact that there are lights there, it would get players, used to playing under the lights, being that, the championship game, last year, for the 47's, was played under the lights at Cook Park.
Just wanted to check with you, and see the future games schedule, at Memorial Park. I've heard nothing, up to now, on how many games will be played there.
Thanks for your efforts Rick.
