As the rains threatened, the 38+Cubs ended their 3-game slide with a win over the A's at the Bob Moore Stadium. Mike LaCouture pitched a complete game (6 innings) for the win. The A's came back strong with a 4 runs in the 4th highlighted by a Ray Demers blast to dead center, just shy of the 330 sign by about 5 feet (closest I've seen to anyone hitting it out of the Bob yet)
In addition to pitching the W, Lacouture had a 2 run, 4RBI performance of his own - not a bad day at the office for him.
Cubbies also welcome Chris Black back to their lineup who had a 2for2 performance with a walk, a double, 3RBI's and 3 runs.
Ray is being modest - he rocked that pitch. And the anonymous "catcher" with 2 hits/RBIs he refers to, is himself. The same catcher that threw out 2 of our guys stealing second.
Ray, you're a classy guy...... I don't care what anybody else says about you!
Looking forward to next time (but don't expect to see that pitch again)
