The Mighty Orioles (38s)

After a loss to the Marlins and 3 rain outs in a row, the Mighty Orioles have come back with a vengeance. In the last 19 innings they have scored 31 runs while only allowing 2. Last night the streak continued with an impressive combined no hitter from Joe Guerin and Dave Topino in a 10-0 rain shortened 5 inning game against the Blue Jays.

Behind the strong hitting of Paul Scutieri (7 for his last 9), and Doug Reisinger (7 for his last 10), and a 3 game errorless defensive effort, the Orioles are heading into the summer with all cylinders firing.

When asked about the latest streak, Orioles pitcher John Paloga expressed his concerns. He said "that now with Roger Clemens being called up, it was just a matter of time till he got the call."

How will the Orioles survive?

Up next to face the Mighty Orioles, the Pirates at SUNY on Friday night.

Although last nights loss was a hard pill to swallow, the Jays are looking forward to our next meeting in July. Besides all the groundwork and drama on the orioles pitching mound, their staff is quite good but very hittable, with good infielding it helps all pitchers, and the Orioles do have that. It would have been nice to get a full game in, but the leftover time after the game might give the Orioles time to take a class in character building.See you again in July !
