Golden Marlins 3, Blue Thunder 2

On a non-stop, rain filled, cold Sunday evening, the champion Golden Marlins came out to play some b-ball against Blue Thunder for the first time this season. The game turned into a pitchers duel. Inning after inning, no runs, few hits, but the rain just kept on falling. The game was scoreless till the bottom of the 4th, when the Marlins pushed across 3 runs. Blue Thunder was held scoreless by the Marlins till the top of the seventh, when lighting hit the Thunder. Then 4 base hits, two runs, men on 2nd and 3rd, two outs - is this exciting yet - Tim Brown for the Thunder was up and rocketed one down to deep, deep third and would you believe that Marlin third baseman (name unknown at the time of this press release) threw a bullet to first to nip the runner by one step WHAT A GAME - CAN IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT. Thanks again Golden Marlins, for a terrific game played even with that terrible non-ending rain, non-ending drizzle and non-ending yucky conditions - but we got the game in didn't we. I must give hats off to John Reel who continues to have a team of fine players since the division started in 2003. As I have said, this is truly a great season so far and truly a highly competitive division. See you again Marlins on 8/05/07 when WE will be the home team. Wish it was more often. Bob Lounsbury, General Manager of Blue Thunder.

that would be Ed Deigel 61 years young at third. caught the high bounder deep and back handed and had to gather himself and throw for the out . where Jim Ansel then made a good play at first. Pete Westfall pitched into the 6th for us and having tossed 3 on saturday just ran out of steam. but well done. Tom Maney got the save. We scored the winning run on a Joe Romero , 2 RBI single to left. Rich Garbarino threw all 6 for the Thunder ..............."lightning struck the Thunder" .... I like that better than "for the love of the game". And ,Man that Sattelite takes the rain!
