Met's Vs Blue Jay's 06.21.07

Another good night for baseball in Scotia last night @ the middle school, which was in great shape last night. Unfortunately are streak came to a end by the score of 5-3 in 9 innings. Yes another extra inning game. The kudos go out to Dan Maynard and Mike Maiello as they both threw complete games for which nobody should take the loss. In the top of the 9th Mike Maiello ripped along triple that rolled past the trees, which led to the go ahead run and they were able to punch across 1 more. This was a hard fought game by 2 tough teams that never quit and I want to congradulate the Blue Jay's for their effort. I hope we meet again and can continue this rivalry and get the W against you guy's.

7-4:cry

You're right, Jim. This was a great, hard fought 9-inning game between two teams that kept on fighting all night long. What a baseball game!!!! It's the kind that stays with you for awhile. Both Dan Maynard and Mike Maiello showed their toughness and refusal to let up one bit. There were a lot of good defensive plays by both teams but one that stands out is the play that the Met's right fielder made in deep right in the 8th inning, pulling in a long, potential game-winning drive by Brian Maiello. The Jays want to compliment the Mets on your obvious talent all the way through your lineup and for playing such a great game. Jim - you have pulled together a solid team - with a ton of class. Good luck the rest of the season. We look forward to the next meeting of the Mets/Jays.

The field was definitely in great shape. The grass was cut just right and the infield clay had been prepared by the grounds crew and was in perfect condition.

I'd like to add that Ed Schreiber - my good buddy, Jays teammate and my teammate from Little League and Babe Ruth days had 3 hits, including a ripped single to left in the top of the 9th that drove in the 5th run of the game for the Jays. Great job, Ed.
