It was a rather warm night at Bob Moore on Monday when the Cubs and Reds prepared for what turned out to be a decent game. Both pitchers were effective (sorry Dennis I do not have the name of the Cubs pitcher) and Tony Pilatich for the Reds. Tony coming off an injury that cost him 4 games held the Cubs to 2 hits through 5 striking out 3. Chris Quinn came in for the 6th and 7th to only face the minimum. Ron McCarthy hit a nice shot over the left center field fence for a home run that turned out to be the only run the Reds would need. The Cubs played much better than the score shows. They loaded the bases in the 5th with one out when Ken Zimmer turned a timely double play and got the Reds out a jam. Nice game guys. Reds 3 Cubs 0
