Cardinals/CDMSBL/Family

Greetings to all who read this,
I have had some time to read all of the e-mails and the posts of all the Nationals. I have also had some time to cool off after my first reading of some. All of you who know me, know me as a person of great competetiveness and a family man. I do not cheat on my wife, I do not cheat on my taxes, and I do not cheat at baseball. I am guilty of allowing my children in the dugouts at CDMSBL games for the past 5 years and most times it is not an issue. I had the good fortune to be brought into this league by Mike Hart who remains with the Peppers to this day and he has always taken great joy in their presence. (To the person who took the cheap shot of maybe winning some games, you sometimes learn more in losing than winning) This is evidenced by the fact that it was your team who pointed out the umpires supposed blown calls in the game, not me or any of my teammates. And I did indeed invite my wife into the dugout in the seventh inning because her fingers were swelling up due to a condition called Raynaud's. Not that it is any of your business. But thank you for pointing it out. Now do we really want to start naming names here? Because I can recall a number of instances when I have broken up fistfights between the Cubs and Yankees, I have seen any number of Orioles throw Bats, helmets, F-Bombs, and horrible deridement of the umpires, I have been privy to several occassions of impropriety by the Nationals, yet never did I take it to the bulletin board, I always left it out on the field where it belongs. I'm sorry that so few of you have any family that wants to spend any time with you and I truly hope that this ends it.
Lastly I have to say this, if this were a white player we were talking about, would the outcry be the same?

WHOA!!!!!!! WHAT DOES RACE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS????? ARE YOU SERIOUS??? WHERE DID ANYONE POST WHAT RACE ANYONE WAS THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE GAME?? HERB, GET A FREAKING GRIP YOU MORON. IF YOU WANT TO TRY AND START RACE WARS, GET THE HELL OUT OF THE LEAGUE AND GET SOME HELP!!! THAT WAS THE MOST IGNORANT, REDICULOUS, UNEDUCATED THING I HAVE EVER READ ON THIS SITE. IF I WERE YOU, I'D APOLIGIZE TO YOUR PLAYER AND THE LEAGUE FOR THAT KIND OF NONSENSE. I COULD GO ON FOREVER......

Being a member of this league for 11 years I can't believe what I've just read from one of our officers.

All the on-field problems you've mentioned put aside, the quote "I'm sorry that so few of you have any family that wants to spend any time with you" How can anybody in this league not take that as an insult to them and their family.

You believe we now have Race issues too? Come on now Herb!!!!!!

Clearly, there is an ignorance surrounding the individual who posted this topic. I believe that, although we are entitled to freedom of speech guaranteed to us in the First Amendment of the Constitution, we are responsible for what we say and what we say has consequences. I believe that this issue goes to show that the above Mr. Carter should not retain his post as an officer, as he obviously no longer shares the respect of his colleagues and is not a quality representative of the beliefs of the CDMSBL.

Sincerely Yours,

Someone Who Cares About The Well Being of The League

Herb,

The race thing is ridiculous! Furthermore, I try to stay out of things, however when you bring the Nationals into question, you bring me into it. The Nationals are nothing, but class. We argue calls just like every other team, but we know when to stop. As manager, I probably argue more than anyone on the team, but I feel like that is my job. Every other team in this league knows us and respects us as well as I do them. So stop pointing fingers at everyone else and take responsibility.

Herb,
I have to say this is a more than a little disappointing. I can understand the need to be defensive, a lot of people are saying a lot of things about you and your team. Perhaps if it was done in a more private/constructive way things would be different. However, are you out of your mind??? Pointing fingers at other teams in the league is really a poor reflection, and what I really take exception at is the question about race. Your player tore out of the parking lot, with kids around. Now, I know your kids were safely in the dugout where they do not belong, but there were other peoples kids, some of whom are on your team, that were in the parking lot. The fact that the player in question swore is one thing, many of the players in the league do it, but can you really defend his actions behind the wheel of his car with all of those kids around??? Furthermore, YOU are a member of the board, a manager of a team, and a grown man. You should know better.
