After playing well over our last few games, the Cubs broke back into the "Win" column with a strong team effort against the Giants. The heart of our batting order produced three-run rallies in the first, third and sixth innings. Fransisco Rosello and Mike Labarge reached base three times each while Mike LaCouture and Chris Black came through with big 2-out RBI hits. Backed by solid defensive plays by Jose Moreno at SS, Chris Black at 1st and Joe Ostrander and Gino Rodriguez in the outfield, pitcher Fransisco Rosello kept the Giants in check through five innings. After the Giants mounted a three-run rally in the sixth, John Martin came in to induce a game ending ground ball.
The Giants put together ten hits over their six innings.
The Cubs are happy to have Mike Lacouture back from injury rehab and to see John Martin retake the mound.
