Since I assume there are folks out there who are curious, here's what I know:
* Shasky's beat the Blue Jays, 5-3.
* Pirates beat the Shasky's, 16-1
* Peppers beat the White Sox, 7-5 . . . in 11 innings!
I don't know the outcome of the Reds/Peppers game.
Anyway, two great victories for two bottom-dwelling clubs. Though I've never been in love with the all-inclusive playoff format, today makes a strong argument in its favor. Those were big, emotional victories for two teams coming off rough seasons. Something to build on.
Pirates move on to a best-of-three quarterfinals against the Hummingbirds. We're glad to still be playing.
