Peppers beat the White Sox 7 to 5 in 11 innings in the first game Saturday at New Scotland. Erik Samarija pitched the first 6 innings and John Weber pitched the final 5. Peppers scored 2 runs in the top of the 11th and held on for the exhausting win.
With just 15 minutes between games, the Peppers came back and beat the Reds 12 to 5 in the second game. Artie Gianakos pitched a strong game for the Peppers, being relieved by John Weber who got the last 2 outs of the 7th.
Peppers will now catch their collective breath and get ready to face the Giants in the best of 3 series to begin Tuesday night.
Thanks to the White Sox for a great and thrilling game one and to the Reds who unfortunately for them were without a full roster and then lost 2 players to injuries during game 2.
Ed, congratulations to you and your teammates for a remarkable upset in the playoffs. It makes a tough season all worthwhile. Good luck in the next round. Keep the bats hot, the pitching strong and there's no telling what surprises may ensue.
