Damn, last night was one for the ages. Last night's experience will be told at Mike Girard's next cooler session. In short, we got to the hospital about 10:30 and got home at 5:30. Let's just say, we can create a routine for the Jay Leno show and go on tour!!!
Tommy is OK. The shoulder is back in place. He is sore as hell, but compared to his pain, I'm sure he'd say is is resting comfortably. He will be at the doc's office today or tomorrow.
Thanx to all of you at the scene. Rodney Smith for calling 911 and staying with the call to get the paramedics to the correct field. And thanx to those who offered up their blankets; they were a godsend. He needed them as he waited in bed for the doc. They are back in his home and he'll get them back to their owners.
Brian Musella stopped by the hospital, just walking past anyone in sight till he found us. If you think he's a take-charge guy behind the dish, you should have seen him with the nursing staff!!! They melted at his charm. Gotta get a lesson from him!!! Now, if he could only deal with the umps like that ...
Thanx Brian for being there. Meant a lot to Tommy.
My Baseball Family ; I can not put into words how touched I am about the outpouring of care for me, from all my CDMSBL friends.
I could see the genuine concern for me in your eyes, as each of you wished me well, while waiting for the ambulance.
I will forever remember Brian, and his Oriole teammates for their class and kindness. Brian, I may still be waiting at Memorial if you hadn't taken control over there.
Jimmy K., I thank the god for having a friend as true as you.
Everything happens for a reason, my bitter disapointment is overshadowed by my heartfelt emotions for you all.
