What's Up with the 38 Finals?

Does anybody have info re: the Orioles/Marlins dysfunctional final? Is it happening? When? Where? I've heard some different rumors, but nothing official and nothing recently.

Also, there was talk of the champion representing CDMSBL in a series against the Roy Hobbes winner. Very cool idea. Any word on that?

John? Paul? Kevin? Anyone . . . anyone . . . Bueller?

Looks like we may have a field, date, and time that satisfies all parties on the 38+ Final game.
The insurance certificate a some paperwork need to be finalized, but it looks like the Clifton Commons World Series field will host the climactic game. The date: Friday 9/14; the time: 8:30pm. Those who are not there to see it, will wish that they were.

Thanx Mike. I was just about to make a posting on this. I knew KJ had come up with a legitimate plan to reschedule this game, and that the decision was likely to come soon. I knew you perhaps were working on that field, too, from your CP connections.

To hopefully put some things to rest, there are MANY reasons this did not get done sooner, and MANY reasons the game didn't come off this past Saturday as rumored. Leave it at that. No one person on any one team is at fault. And neither is KJ.
If you want to concoct your own theories, go for it. But you wouldn't be right. And I will not discuss it, either. Time to let go and enjoy good baseball. As for the 8:30 start, I'm sure both teams agreed on that. Those lights are pretty good.

Can't wait to see it. Hope the forecast is good.

Pitching matchup, anyone?
Duncan vs. Bolt
Mash vs. Bolt? (Mash has been lights out recently)
LaTorre vs. Bolt?
Ansel vs. Bolt?

Or, will it be Bolt? Perhaps Paloga or even Guerin back from the DL?
This game could be over in an hour, 15 minutes.

So, like Mike said, be there or you just might regret it missing it.
Hope to see you there.
JimK

You guys drag this out any longer and Shook will be eligible to pitch!!

You members of the Marlins that also play with the Cubbies, don't forget we have a doubleheader Sat morning - that means 4 AM curfew - NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Have a great game.

Jonny

Mike-
This should be a barn burner! I think you are right...anyone missing it will wish they were there. Considering some less fortunate history, let's make sure we keep this game in perspective and behave in a way no one that shows up wishes they WEREN'T there. Let's stay off the Blue Shirts and roll with calls, we know there is always one (if not 2 or 3) that are just plain bad...it's how the teams handle it that will be remembered. See ya Friday.

Hey Jonny, it looks like the baseball Gods might be smiling on us for Saturday.
The Yankees - Pirates game was rained out last Sunday. The word is that they are going to try to make it up on Wednesday night at the A-diamond, but if they can't plat it then, they will play it on Saturday at 10:00am, moving our game with the winner to 12:30pm. Then the Sunday schedule would be for two games if necessary. It looks like we are going to get a lot of rain today and some tomorrow. That improves our chances at that favorable schedule switch. Can we stay out until 4:30am? PLEASE!

Note: Please be advised that the members of CDMSBL strongly recommend that wives AND girlfriends avoid attendiing the same game.

It can get ugly.
