Orlando and baseball at Disney

Well once again Albany was represented in the Disney Classic at Orlando. We went 0-3, but we fielded a much better team than our record would show. There were 7 guys from Albany. (If you count Ted Martin as an Albany guy) and we had 5 guys from the player pool that I picked up. I believe that we lost, at least in part, to my not knowing where some of the new guys should play and what there ability was. We also could have used another relief pitcher. All in all we faced some very good competition in the over 35 division which included the powerhouse Chester County Cobras. We faced their ace, ex major leaguer Bill Cuff, in our final game. He really through hard and was just wild enough to make you nervous.

We made some great contacts with some pool players and now have the beginnings of a travel team core group.

Here are the final stats for the players who played all 3 games:

Joe Careccia .571
Rico Nieves .333
Jim Bonaparte .333
Bill Sperer .300
Mike Binze .125
Tony Parella .111
Andy Tillman .111
Bob Bolt .000
M. Cunningham .000

Players with only 2 games
Jon Martin .667
Charles Georges.400
Ted Martin .000

Next stop Las Vegas. Don't miss it....
