I just want to say that Anaconda Sports is the absolute worst place I've ever dealt with ordering umpire's equipment and baseball jerseys.
I ordered three more Giants jerseys and the lettering came back wrong despite a written description and a photo of the jersey I wanted. They said they'd send new ones, and they did. And they came in wrong yet again, despite repeated clarification of the order.
I don't know who has been happy with them, but if you are new and are considering ordering anything from them, don't do it!
In reply and in defense of Anaconda , I have been dealing with them for 14 years. For my son and/or their teams Little League, Junior League, Senior League, Babe Ruth and now for my own equipment in CDMSBL. I have found them very helpful and their equipment at the quality you pay for. I always deal with a specific salesman in their Kingston office where they also have a small store.I have not purchased uniforms from them. I can recommend a company in Greene County, Round Top Knit and Screening 518-622-3600, where I had purchased uniforms for LL, JL and BR Leagues and T-shirts for our Boy Scout troop. He sponsors a Babe Ruth team.
Thanx for the uni tip. And I'm happy to know you have had a good experience with Anaconda. But in three years, its percentage in filling my orders correctly hasn't been very good. Thanx again. Jim
I have found Anaconda to be helpful if you are ordering equipment for yourself (such as bats, mitts, bags, etc.) but the uniform shop is positively hideous.
A few years ago I went with a company based in California for my uniforms in the CDNABA and they came out great. Re-ordering was also very easy as they keep a database with all of their clients and the style of uniform they had. So when it came time to order more jerseys for the new players in subsequent seasons all I had to tell them was the team name and the address the uniforms were shipped to and they were able to make identical uniforms to the ones we already had.
When I came back to the CDMSBL and played on the 28+ Nationals, Joe Fitz also used them and was extremely happy with their service. Now, upon recommendation, Ed Obertubbesing (who's name I'm sure I've misspelled here) has used them for the new Braves team in the 37+ league.
I cannot say enough good things about them. Everything came shipped exactly as specified - even fill in orders. The sales reps will communicate via phone and/or e-mail and send renderings of what your uniforms will look like so you can make any changes you feel are necessary. They will custom design logos for your caps as well for a nominal one-time fee (the logo they created for the CDNABA Aces was absolutely as I asked - in fact, I still have the graphic saved if anyone wants a sample of their work). They are a bit more expensive than your average uniform company, but it's well worth the price to not have to deal with the hassle of places like Anaconda.
I did order our new Braves jerseys through Uniforms Express and they have been extremely helpful. Our jerseys are scheduled to ship to us on April 19th - a 6 week turnaround time from the time the order was placed - not bad in light of the fact that the jerseys are custom made. I cannot comment on the quality until we receive them but they (Uniforms Express) make the jerseys for a number of NCAA Division 1 schools and the quality certainly appears to be excellent.
I did order our hats through Anaconda - received them in less than 1 week. Cannot complain about anything there, as we ordered standard MLB Braves hats so not much could go wrong with that.
Actually, Uniform Express is where our sponsor got our 48 division jerseys when that division started. Our manager, Don Hudson, who is currently in Iraq, re-ordered a couple more and they came out perfect. So, just the other day I realized we needed four more Hornets jerseys. I called Uniform Express and they had everything in their database. They immediately sent me an order number and a picture of the shirt front and back of what I just ordered. They gve me a specific date the jerseys would arrive at my doorstep. But, each jersey is also $50.80. Not cheap, but the service is worth it.
I also got an email today from Anaconda saying he misunderstood the order the second time. Yup, I wanted black numbers on the back and white letters on the front! Geez, who does that???
I have used Anaconda for the past 13 years for my HS team's orders and have never once been disappointed. They have always been there for me even when I asked for stuff with little time for error. Try the Kingston office. They are the best around. Good luck.
