Thursday night at New Scotland brought together two perrennial powers in the 46+Division. The Yankees took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, only to have the Golden Marlins plate two in the bottom half and 4 more in the bottom of the second to take control. The Yankees scratched out singletons in the top of the third and fouth innings in an effort to make a come back, but the Marlins put two up in the bottom of the fifth, and had 3 runs in and two runners on with one out in the bottom of the sixth, when the game was called due to darkness. Round one of this battle goes to the Golden Marlins, but the Yankees will be back to fight another day. Ron Lochner and Ed Diegel had three hit games for the Marlins and Tom Maney, Skip Treece, Randy Wood, and Mike Girard added two hits apiece in a balanced attack. Dennis Scimeca and TJ Scorsone teamed up to hold the Yakees to 4 hits and 2 earned runs.
