CDMSBL Documentary Film

CDMSBL Members,

I am undertaking a long term film project, a documentary about the whole experience we go through week in and week out from April to September - Men's Baseball. Focusing not only on the game but the lives and professions we come from and go to before and after we get to the field. I have gotten a lot of positive feedback from the manager's I've spoken to so far, and I hope I can continue getting cooperation all around. We have a very interesting world that we make happen, and I think it could make a very interesting subject for an edgy documentary.

I will be getting a questionnaire out there soon about our statistics - our professions, how far we went in organized baseball before coming to CDMSBL, that sort of stuff. I hope many of you will fill it out. Names are not necessary but are encouraged so I can track down the folks whose stories stand out.

Crews are going to start showing up for games and might even be looking to get an interview or two. Anybody who is not interested in participating will not be bothered or harassed, I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable, and I don't want to disrupt things at all. I will just be quietly going about my business.
If anybody has any vintage film or video footage of them playing ball when they were young(up to college) I would love to hear about it, it could be very useful in this type of film.

Everybody is encouraged to contact me directly if they would like to talk about this or if they have any comments or questions.

This is a two-year project.

Thank You,

Tony Grocki
