A very sloppy game at West Albany ended with the Pirates scoring 4 unearned runs in the 7th, but falling to the Giants, who evened their record at 5-5.
Giants had 16 hits as far as I can tell by the scoresheet, but could have had 1-2 more. Whatever. Giants scored 4 in the 4th for a 5-3 lead and then iced it with 7 in the 7th.
Seven players had two hits or more. Carlos Llera and had a single, 2 doubles, scored three times, drove in two and stole 2 bases, and, yes Girard, Mike Hicks had a single, double and two-run HR to lead the Giants.
Jerry Solomon went the first 6, allowing 6 hits and only one earned run, to earn the win.
