Today at New Scotland saw the Cubs Ron Masseroni and the Orioles Dave Topino lock horns in a extra inning pitching duel. The Orioles struck first to take a 1-0 lead only to see it disappear when CDMSBL-HOF Teddy Martin hit a Long 2 run HR to put the Cubs up 2-1. The Orioles came back to tie it up 2-2. The game then ventured into extra innings. In the bottom of the 8th WP Dave Topino got on by an error was sacrificed to second and scored on a single to left by Mark Lennox for a final score of 3-2. The Cubs Jim McQuade along with the Orioles Joe Careccia both added 2 hits.
I amazed how both pitchers hung in there for 8 innings. I think both of them (if the game continued) would of came out for the ninth.
