Yankees 13 Black Sox 9

Scoring galore in this contest that went 9 innings. and was a hard fought game between the Sox and Yankees.
The Sox jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, then the Yankees chipped away with 2 in the 2nd and 1 in the third inning making it 3-3 Sox. In the fourth, the Sox put up a 5 spot making it 8-3 then the Yanks plated 6 in the 5th to take a 9-8 lead in the 5th. In the 6th the Sox scratched out a run to make it a 9-9 contest. Into the 9th now, Wayne Newcomb started a 4 run inning with a single and scored the go ahead and final run making it 13-9. Jerry Solomon shut down the Sox in relief in the final 3 innings and got the win striking out 4.
Kevin Jackson (HIT MAN) continued his torrid hitting coming thru with 4 hits and knocking in 6 RBI's in clutch situations.Adding to the Yankee 18 hit attack were Todd Baldwin and Steve Vangelder also continuing there hot hitting chipping in with 3 hits each.
Koster,Noto and Fish lead the way for the Sox with 2 hits each. On an unfortunate note, Ed Screiber (Yankees) and Donnie (NAILS) Wixon collided in a close play at 2B. Donnie was down on his back for a good 10 minutes, then back on his feet and promptly singled to left on his next time up. While at first, Donnie started to feel the effects once again and started losing his balance then was assisted to the ground by his players. Fortunately, Ed Screiber came to Donnies aide, as he did last year when All time great Tom Maney dislocated his shoulder and put it back in at the Satellite field.
I talked to Donnie last night and the prognosis was a concusion. Hope you get back after our off week for the Fourth of July holidays Donnie. Our prayers are with you buddy.
Yankees improve to 6-2 and the Black Sox are now 3-3. Now a week off to heal up many guys with bumps and bruises.
