In another close game at Satellite on Sunday, the Cougars just managed to escape with a win over the Dodgers by the score of 5-4.
And I do mean close. The Dodgers actually opened up a one-run lead four times, with the Cats coming back to tie it up three times. In their last at-bat, the Cougars managed to plate two, and then held on for three more outs for the win.
Andy "The Rocket" Andros fired a complete game for the Cougars, scattering about six hits and striking out five. A slightly tighter Cougars defense might have helped limit the Dodgers to just a deuce. Rocket also went 2 for 4 at bat, and had what was (with the help of a throwing error) the game-winning hit in the top of the seventh.
Eddie "Complete Game" Rogers twirled another seven-inning gem in hard luck. Not only can he place a curveball like no one else we've faced this year, but he and base-stealer extraordinaire Gino Rodriguez were both two for three at bat to lead the Dodgers offense.
For the Cougars, Brian Quinn, Jim Turner, Jeffrey Singer, and Rob Rugen had two hits apiece. All told, the Ferocious Felines chalked up thirteen base hits to continue red hot.
Thanks, as always, to our good friends on the Dodgers for another all-too-exciting nail-biter.
