i wanted to alert you all to a good story that'll appear in sunday's (7/20) times union.
it's on the pirates' and whiz kids' jim preller and his new novel "six innings." the story appears on the cover of the paper's book & travel section. the section itself is somewhat buried - it's in the real estate tab - but it'll be worth your time to find it and read it.
jim has a good story here - a novel about pre-teenage boys discovering the game and through and around it, themselves. the connections between jim's real life and the book are touching.
freelancer mike lisi wrote the piece. it's a big package, by tu standards, taking, with photos, two-thirds of the cover, and then it jumps to the inside.
