Golden Marlins 3 - Yankees 1

The story in this one was the losing pitcher.
Charlie Oswald, playing this year after a five year absence, stepped on to the hill for the Yankees in a tough spot. He held the potent Marlins line up to just four hits and three runs through seven innings. Charlie had great location all day getting Marlin batters to cue it off the end or hit it on the handle. Great job Charlie!
Dennis Scimeca struggled with his location, but limitted the Yankees to just one run through four innings, and Pete Westfall shut them out the rest of the way.
The Golden Marlins got a big RBI single from Jim Ansel to tie the game and took the lead on a balk. The insurance run came in the top of the seventh with some classic small ball. Randy Craft led off with a walk and stole second. Jim Ansel sacraficed him to third and Randy came in on a long sacrafice fly to left.
The ball games between the Yankeees and the Golden Marlins are always close and hard fought. This game was no exception.
Kudos to Kevin Jackson for moving two Sunday games to Kinderhook Town Park, which was the only area in the Capital Region that was dry enough to get the games in. Great job Kevin Kovacheck!

Marlins/ Yankees, always a tight. well contested game, and yesterday was no different. Both clubs only contributed 4 hits in the contest, and a number of defensive gems.
Dennis S and Charlie O hooked up in a pitching duel. Pete Westfall came in relief for the final 2 innings and finished strong. Marlins 3 Yankees 1.
Also, thanks to Kevin Jackson the got the game moved to Kinderhook.
