Billy Earl indeed threw a great game - 3 hitter to be exact. Cubs had only 6 baserunners for the game, and four of those made outs on the basepaths.
Ron Massaroni battled on the hill all night for the Cubs. All bird runs came in the fourth. With the bases loaded and 1 out, Ronny induced the always dangerous Mr.Coon's to hit a grounder to short. Cubs couldn't quite turn the double play, two runs scored and the inning continued. A big hit and a throwing error plated the final two in the inning.
