Hey Guys, I wanted to let everybody know that Tommy Broke his leg on Sat running out a ball to first base. As usual Tommy was giving 150% hustle to beat out the ball, and he did, but in crossing first he landed on the first basemans foot and rolled over. He struggled to get up, and asked for a courtesy runner which the trojans granted. He stayed in the coaches box, and then went back to first for the next defensive inning, and then hobbled off and said Jim I can't continue , which for him is something none of us has ever heard Tommy say. He called me later to let me know the news, but his first question was how did we do?. Get well T, and we'll see ya next year and in the coahes box for the playoffs I hope if possible.
I wish you speedy recovery and I know you'll get ready for another year in 2009. Now you'll have even more time for the rum & coke to help you get through this setback.
Thank you, Gentlemen. I have a long way to go to get to the likes of T. Maney et al, and their war wounds. So far they don't think they will have to screw it. None of the Dr.'s believed me that I hurt it playing ball; one thought I got shot by a .22 (well, it was Schenectady). They put a cast on last night, and upgraded me from Darvocet to Percocet so things are looking up. I go back in two weeks for x-rays to make sure it's healing properly.
I have already paid for the Philly tourney (10/11-12) and will make a decision quickly on what to do about taking a team there. I've been told in no uncertain terms that I have no chance of suiting up, and am about 10% toward accepting that.
Best of Luck to the Cubs and Giants the remaining two games - stay well.
Tommy - hated to hear about the bad wheel.....you are one of the class guys in the league..get healed up in a hurry, and stick to the rehab they tell you to do.....meantime, when boredom sets in, I'll keep a bar stool open for you, with a tall Captain waiting on you....jd
Sorry to hear about your injury. Give me a call again - I just got your voicemail looking for the old Doc that was on our team. I think I have his number.
Is the Road Coke now a Road IV? Maybe you can get Wayne to rub your boo-boo!
Just take your time and get back healthy...The PR Tournament is a good way to get back...I think the Palo Viejo has a faster therapeutic effect that the Captain
Tommy, What the hell are you doing??? I am sitting at my desk thinking about all the fun times we had playing against each other and the laughs we shared after the games with a couple of "road cokes". They were great times. Thanks for making my playing time fun and competitive and for nearly breaking my ankle with that line drive bullet you hit back through the box a couple of years ago. Hope the family is well and you will be back before you know it. Thanks for joining the survival fantasy football league, it will be fun. How'd ya like Fitzy's pic on his posting? He looks like a mean hombre. TTYL, Mooney
