I have some more details on the 2009 Caribbean Winter Baseball Championship:

Tuesday February 10th - Travel
Wednesday 2/11 - each team has a designated practice slot at a tournament field
Thursday 2/12 - One game (possibly two, but doubtful)
Friday 2/13 - Two games
Saturday 2/14 - two games (one if we play two Thursday)
Sunday 2/15 - Playoffs/Championship
Monday 2/16 - Potential championship if there are rainouts
Tuesday 2/17 - Fly home
All games are played in stadiums; the photos I've seen compare favorably to the Joe or better.

Tourney is $185 per player regardless of how many we carry. Each team gets two new maple bats and T's for everyone included.

I checked airfare the other day and there are 5 non-stops from JFK for $260 round trip. You can go from Albany but there are only two flights, $370 round trip connecting.

We'll get more than one, but 3-4 BR luxury condos are going for $400/bedroom for the week with cleaning fee and taxes included. These are gorgeous places with pool, whirlpool, security (since the wives won't want to go to 5 games in 3 days), and gated parking.

Obviously not everyone has a week's vacation to burn to play baseball, and the couch will get pretty uncomfortable when you tell her you're playing two on V-day. What other tourney allows you to go to Caribbean beaches for a week? I plan on ordering up a massage for Pam on Saturday and a nice dinner that night. If you want to come down Wednesday and back on Monday, we can work around that.
