Q's cause

The board decided at its initial meeting Monday to support Q and his new bride in their call for holiday cheer to those less fortunate from the elementary school where he teaches. To help out we donated $200 from the Board Designated Fund.

Its great we have Q in charge of this whole thing and you know your dollar or gift gets spent entirely on the recipients and all locally. Although we endeavor primarily to maintain a league to play ball, we also have a place and responsibility in the wider community and I for one think this is a great project to support.....and We hope many more will donate as league members, as teams, or busniesses.

I have pasted in Q's contact info to help you get your gift to him, thanks in advance for your support at whatever level, CDMSBL board member and current league sect. John Reel :

Helping families for the Holiday's

As some of you read previously that I am a teacher and coach at the New Covenant Charter School. I along with another man at my school have taken it upon ourselves to do what we can to make sure the kids and their families are fed and receive gifts for Christmas. I know my Thanksgiving notice was not a long enough period of time but I still got Great support from Mario, Cannon, The 35 A's team and many others. My school is in debt to all that helped.

What we are looking to have donated...................

Money (I would send my wife to get gifts)
Food (can goods, turkey's, milk, eggs, anything we can use to feed families)
Toys - wwe action figures, transformers, gi joe, games, etc
Clothes-Ages 5-12

Anything you can do for us would be appreciated. My number is 701-1014. My email is quentinjensen19@aol.com.

School address is 50 North Lark, Albany, NY 12210 if anyone wants to deliver or send stuff here.

Thanks for your time and consideration

Q

December 23rd is the date for delivery. You can't get a cup of coffee for $5 anymore, but if 10 people donate $5 each that feeds two families - think about it. Everybody is a little short with the price of gas and everything else going on, but being a little short is a whole different world than going without.

I figure it costs an average of $400 per division for each of us to play when you figure $200 for league, $50 for new stuff per year, $50 to bribe our wives, and $100 for gas and beer (ok, only $10 goes to gas).

If everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot.

It's great to belong to a league where Q and JimK (Rensselaer Little League) and a bunch of other guys step up to the plate and lead the charge for causes that really make a difference in so many kids' lives. Baseball is such a cool common denominator that brings together hundreds of guys that would have never met. So thanks to everyone, especially the Yankees, Whiz Kids, Pirates, Shaskys, and Cougars for giving me 24 great games in my first year in CDMSBL. I have even started practicing at All Stars with several other guys from the league just to make the effort to be on the field with these great men.

Thanks again.

Its guys like you Brian Cannon who make a difference with your contributions. Like Tommy Smith said a little goes along way when you have nothing! Keep up the good work and thanks to everyone for their help with me trying to get the kids at my school a merry christmas.
