35 Managers Meeting

Thanks to all managers who attended the meeting last night.

Detailed meeting minutes have been sent to individual managers, but here is a quick snapshot.

1. Player movement - existing rule stays in effect, one player may move from team A to team B. Additional players must petition the commissioner, who then puts the request to a vote by managers of teams not involved in the transaction.

2. Substitute players - must be on a 35+ roster, and can bat no higher than 6th.

3. Playoff format - remains the same. All teams are eligible provided they do not forfeit two regular season games.

4. Budget - team entry fees should be flat from last year for the most part.

That's a high-level overview. The first three items were decided by a vote of all managers. Without going into details, the vote tallies were not close.

Five weeks to pitchers/catchers....four weeks to Puerto Rico!

Tom

Nice meeting. Everyone gave their voice and I think we accomplished something. Nothing too drastic or crazy.

One quick note - I think the age limit is to be that no one BELOW the 35 age limit is to used as a fill-in. I think players from our older leagues are allowed.

Keep up the great work! Let's play ball!

Thanks Ray - you are correct. A manager may use a susbstitute player from a 35 roster or of any roster on the "more experienced" age divisions.
