Doing business with each other....post your profession?

Well at least i wasn't the first one (leave that to the insurance guy!!) but after the last couple of posts maybe it would make sense for all of us to post what we do with the idea that we can use each other's services and / or refer business to eavh other.

I own a business that does phone systems and wiring for phones and computers...we can work on existing equipment or install new stuff.

Mention CDMSBL and i'll even give you a break!

As some of you may have heard I have been working on creating a new league web site. After the banquet it will be revealed.

I have a section on the site that is called Business Referrals. This is where Mike Girard would send me the name of his company, what they sell and any info he would like written on an add along with email, number and possible web site.

If you have a Business you want on the site please send it to me at qjensen19@yahoo.com. Any questions email me or call me at 701-1014.

Lets help other guys out in the league since we are all cdmsbl family.

Thanks

I'm all in favor for mentioning what we do for a living so we can help each other out. But we should be careful how we word our posts when doing so.

I work for AT&T/Lucent/Avaya for the past 23 years.....There also are many other guys who play in this league who are in the same Union as me.....

Fair enough ..and no disrespect intended by any means......i am a small business and deal almost exclusively with small to medium sized businesses so we don't even compete with Direct since you guys don't service that market and only do enterprise (which we don't and can't do).

I just edited my post.

Boy how our industry has changed over the last twenty years?

League Brothers-

I think it's great for us to establish a section of the new website for all of us to list our professions. It is a way for us in these rough economic times to benefit from this league in a way other than the fun and enjoyment and fellowship we get from the game itself. We can pool our information and gain economic power in numbers. We can use barter in certain situations to override the fast changing devaluations that could very soon be coming to the economic landscape. And most important, by exchanging information and giving referrals, we can protect ourselves from the many scam artist and high-priced thieves out there in the marketplace, especially in the line of all types of home repair and improvement.

God, what I would do to know a reliable HVAC service person, a good handyman, a roof estimate that I knew I could trust. We and our referrals of good reliable service providers would all be enriched in the process. It's called closing the wagons and I think we can do it on the website and it will be a great thing.

In the meantime we should all just wait a little longer before swamping the bulletin board with this information. A specific place on the website will be organized and less of a selling and self-promotion free for all. It will be better if we wait - but when we do it, lets really do it in a comprehensive way that we all can benefit from in an organized fashion.

It is a GREAT IDEA!

Good one Donny B

I am currently a Job Coach At Troy High, working with Juniors and Seniors who are NOT going to college and want to get into the construction industry...if you are looking for summer help give me a ring at the school during the day 518-328-5469 or on my cell 518 944 4516.

These are some kids that just need to get into the door and normally wouldn't be given the opportunity if not for this program...

Thanks hope to hear from my baseball compadres...
