As most of you are probably aware by now, one of the true legends of the CDMSBL, Dr. Jim Ansel had a brush with mortality this past weekend. Thank Christ he'll be O.K., and actually the doctors say he should be stronger than ever. You outfielders will have to move back a little. But seriously, there aren't any of us getting any younger, and although we try and compete like hell, and usually only worry about popping a hammy or such, there some serious stuff that we should take care for ourselves. Take the time to get an annual physical - and besides, from what I've seen, there are more than a few guys in this league who definately look like they'd enjoy the prostate exam!!
Since Monday when I came to work I've been visiting with Doc Ansel. He is progressing well and was scheduled to go home today. He's in good spirits and better health than last Saturday. I look forward to his return to baseball later this season
