What a disgrace! On a beautiful sunny day with game-time still hours away we were forced to cancel our game today at SUNY. Carlos was at the field at 11:00 and the "head groundskeeper" instructed us that we could not remove the puddles and apparently he was unwilling to as well. What a joke....they are not willing to take a 1/2 hour, anytime during the day, to work on the field on our behalf so that we can PAY them to play on their field at 6:00. Why do we deal with an organization that treats us so poorly. Time to tell SUNY good bye!

U Albany is an impossible situation to deal with. I've had dealings with them on other fronts, and believe me,you are wasting your time, just pull out of there. They have no interest in our baseball league, and just might have to work a little bit, isn't that what we pay for with use of the field??? I've never seen 1 grounds keeper ever work on the infield, and I live just 2 blocks from the field and I take walks around the field area all the time. Guess it interfere's with many coffee breaks at the nearby Mobil station!!!!
Instead of spending time/effort pointing out the obvious, how about presenting solutions for fields that are available for weeknight games? Your base line is a field that is available most weeks four nights at $75/game.
Moving more games to weekends doesn't seem to be an option given feedback from various managers.
If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem.

That's a fair point. As one who may be managing next year, I'll do my best to secure an alternate field.
I've noticed that Ashby Park in Schodack has gone largely unused this year and hopefully EG Little League will be more receptive to letting us use it in 2010.
