Pirates 6, A's 3

When, on some distant future day, archivists from the year 2314 search to comprehend the beauty and appeal of baseball as played in the early 21st century, this won't be a game they'll need to view. No, not one for the time capsule, fellas. Better to have it evaporate into the ether, gone forever except for a few grim memories. Still: We'll take the W.

It was sloppy. Artie G., the A's twirler, was hurt by errors, though the Pirates actually swung the bats okay (Kane, Jordan, Tryon, Johnson, in particular). Richie Knaupp went the distance for the Pirates. Not his sharpest effort, but he gave us all he had and everything we needed.
