Last School year I started a baseball program in my elementary school for grades 3-6 in arbor hill. Alot of kids have never played the game before but are enjoying it now that they are starting to learn basic fundamentals.
Now I need your help. If you have any old gloves that you no longer use and you are willing to donate them to me for my students it will be greatly appreciated. The school does not provide equipment as I have to use my own stuff or get it from garage sales or from anyone who is willing to help. Last year John Kalinski was nice enough to make t-shirts with numbers on them for my kids.
It is my goal as a Physical Educator/Coach to introduce these students to as many games or sports as I can to keep them safe and off the streets. Many of these students need a sport in their lives.
Last year the 1st day I did it 58 kids showed up and I was by myself. It was fun though. The kids are willing to learn and try different drill and game like situations.
I ended up getting some of my Rockie teamates from the 25 division to help out and it was fun.
