HI guys - now that all three leagues have gone to wood bats. I would like to offer hand made maple bats (32, 33, and 34) at a very reasonable price. I'm doing this because #1 - I know how expensive good quality wood bats can be (especially if you're like me and break an average of 3-5 a year). #2 Selling these bats will help me pay for grad school!
Heres the deal I get the bats from a guy who hand turns them. 7 out of 10 are primo. 3 usually have a defect (but I have to take ALL of them from him). The 1st quality ones I would sell for $38 (painted with one layer of tape about 12 up the handle). Paint can be any color youd like. I just bought 10 for myself a month ago and painted them red, black, silver or brown but if you wanted to match your team colors, have at it! The paint seals the wood and they look kinda cool too (in my humble opinion).
The 2nds are slightly warped (which I used all last season and was really very happy using my warped maple bat). The warp didnt bother me at all. If its something you wouldnt want to use in the game use it for BP and save your gamer. Theyre also hard maple. I would sell those for $19. I would absolutely use one of the warped bats over the $24.99 Louisville Sluggers they sell at Dicks or Sports Authority.
Keep in mind that these bats are very dense and a little heavier than the stuff youd buy off the rack at Dicks or SA. You are welcome to check out one of my SL-1 34 model bats. Yes, I have named my bats. I also have snazzy PICTURES that I can email to you.
If anyone is interested, please let me know as soon as possible it takes awhile for me to sand, paint, sand, paint and sand, paint. Youll want the paint to be cured before using. Trust me on that.
Last thing I have to order 50 at a time So, it doesnt take a mathematical savant to figure this out. I'd have to have at least 50 orders before getting started. I'd need to the 50 ordered no later than January 22, 2010.
Happy Holidays (even you too Tom Maney)!

Well STEVE, it's official, you've gone batty! Actually it sounds like a great business venture. At the moment all of my accessible cash is tied up in eggnog, and rum , but I will definitely get a couple of your maples when I'm done paying for Christmas. Sometime in July I'm guessing ;)
Considering it has taken me three years to break my first bat (you have to swing hard to break them)...I would be interested in placing an order so will be contacting you shortly. And as for Tom's alcohol cumsumption issue, rum and eggnog in Puerto Rico is called "coquito" and to add a little spice to it, add some Coco Lopez (Cream of Coconut) and shredded coconut and use light rum. And served chilled in "small" glasses. How many glasses you drink is your problem...
Mr. Smith - they're more like the LS C243 (I think that's the number) - BIG barrell - almost unfair. Send me your email address - I'll send pictures or I can meet you and show you the ten I made.
Tommy - A man has to have his financial priorities in order - I hear ya brother! Unfortunately, my dog hasn't eaten since the last time Dick Stark legged out a triple (as you might imagine that would make my dog is very thin).
