apologies to quentin and anyone else i may have offended.

i got an email from some san diego friends on friday called "retarded grandparents" - it was a real child's writing about his visit to his grandparents at a senior citizen development - in which he mixed the words "retarded" and "retired." it struck me as funny when i first read it.

but i should have read it more than once. i can see why using the word "retarded" would upset people and that certainly wasn't my intent.

i've deleted the entry.
