Kinderhook Town Park

Guys,

If we plan to use the Kinderhook Town Park we will need to help do some work to the field.

We received an email asking if we can send guys to help fix the field.

Here is the email that was sent.........................

The guy who contacted us was the caretaker for KTP. He advised that they are going to be doing some infield work on Saturday 3/27 at 9 a.m. and is asking our league to send some volunteers to help with raking, etc.

If anyone can help that would def. help us out with building a good relationship.

Thanks

Q

Q - we also need to have a guy at Bethlehem Town Park in April for the same thing... i have Bethlehem covered since it will be the home field for my 35 Pirates team.

This can be a good field if it's maintained. The 52s used it last year, but it was unkempt. I have a previous commitment for Saturday or I'd be there for sure. But I would encourage anyone to go, especially guys in the 52 Division. Thanx.

quentin,
that field is going to need more than just a saturday or even a weekend's work to even come close to being a viable field. it needs major amounts of the proper soil for an infield brought in, to say nothing of the pitchers mound. i am all for fixing a field , but who is suppling the money to buy what that field needs, or are we just doing cosmetic work? if that is the case, you are shoveling s@#@t against the tide on that field. what kind of a reduction in price do we get if we give our time ? how far are the folks in charge up there willing to go? hate to sound like i wanna throw a wet blanket on this, but i remember clearly the work put in at cook park , and how we were treated after we were all done. maybe you can provide more info??

are these folks also the ones responsible for allowing us to play on the high school field?

Hey, Petey...
That flower seems to have some thorns...think positve, man.
I am sure Q has a plan

Also, I believe there are some league members who are locals that have always wanted to help, myself included (eg. Mike LaCouture) Yes, that field does need some work but we all can pitch in...At another time I can put in a couple of hours early, unfortunatley, this Saturday my son's taking the SAT's, but any other time feel free give me a ring...

no thorns on this subject my friend, just a lil bit of a bad experience with basically the same scenario. as far as a plan ,that is what i am hoping to hear more about. and i will say it again. that field needs major work to even be considered halfway decent. i played on it twice last year, and it was bad from batters box to center field.
