Don "Hondo'' Hudson is introduced to receive the 2009 Hornets championship trophy at the CDMSBL Banquet on March 13, 2010, at Carmella's Banquet House in Rensselaer.
Hondo founded the Hornets in the inaugural season of the 45+ Division. (At the time it was 48+). Hondo managed the team for five years before leaving the area to serve our country. He works for one of our nation's intelligence agencies and has served in several continents as well as a tour in Iraq.

The Hornets also voted to present Hondo with his jersey #19 (framed).

Hondo may be the oldest person to hit a home run at CBA - a shot to left-center at the age of 50 - a shot that cleared the fence by some 20-30 feet when he played for the 38+ Knights. If you haven't been to the CBA field, it's a shot to homer anywhere there.

But more importantly, Hondo is one of the most affable, funny and outgoing personalities you will ever meet. Yet, he is among the most compassionate and caring men you will ever meet as well. He once said he wanted to serve our country so guys like us would be free to play baseball.

Congrats Hondo. You deserved this honor.
JK
