Past few years schedules have been balanced based on previous years standings...Seems to work out okay.... I was just looking at this years schedule and thought I would point out the fact that there are many ways to " balance " a schedule....... Every single team except one has anywhere from 8 to 11 morning games.......It seems the Marlins are the only group of old timers that get to sleep in.....They have zero morning games...every game starts at either 2pm or 5 pm.....what gives ?
I like the early games as a member of a 45-team. I would rather not play any 2 or 5 pm games on a Sunday if at all possible. Since the Marlins/John Reel/Mr. Duncan are responsible for getting the 45-division the NEW SCOTLAND venue. I could care less if they played every game at 5pm and slept in until 4PM. I just appreciate having a good field to play on, at the same locations, on the same day. Experience what the 35-division goes through the past few years, and your perspective will be different. This has come up the past 2 years. Who cares when youre playing.. youre playing.
John Reel responded as follows in an e-mail to me:
"i (sic) slotted my team [Golden Marlins] as such so I could better police the fields at the end of the day, and I can better gather all scores and incidents."
I hope this clarifies the issue.
One small consolation: the field is always going to be in better condition in the earlier games.
